Wednesday morning I was in need of a little time away. I'm spoiled at home with all the help from my Mom which allows me time to get my errands done and also just spend some time by myself without having to "take care" of anyone. So I took off for a couple of hours and wandered around our area exploring....oh and doing a little shopping too:) Ha!!
When I got home we decided to take the boys to this area called "Old Town". Its a carnival that also has a long strip of shops that reminds me of like Bourbon St In New Orleans. The boys thought it was pretty cool. I was happy they were having fun but the snob in me couldn't help but notice the "unsavory" people strolling around. I was trying to keep an open mind though!
We bought the boys wrist bands so that they could ride as many rides as they wanted. Parker was a maniac going from ride to ride. NOT Sam he got on one ride that was called bouncy buggies. I should have realized that was NOT a good idea! The ride started and he SCREAMED "get me off this crazy ride". Luckily they were able to stop it and get him down and then continue on with the ride. However Sam did love the Carousel and I managed to get him on the tea cup ride with me. I think I was more scared than him. Parker and I went on the kiddie roller coaster.
my conversation with the Carnie:
Me: So do you think I will be able to fit on this roller coaster
Carnie: (after looking me up and down) Oh you will be fine I've seen A LOT bigger people get on that thing
Me: Ahhhh Thanks, I think?!?!?!
The funny thing about Parker on these rides is he is SOOOO Serious. Jody was asking if I thought he was having fun and I was like Yup, that is just his "riding face". He did the same thing in Cleveland.
After we were all tired, a little dizzy and sick of being "eye-balled" by the Carnies we decided to get some dinner. We went to this restaurant in Old Town that had seriously not one other person there. I was a little nervous but then I saw the sign "Kids Eat Free" so I thought might as well check it out. I'm not kidding it was the best meal we have had in a long time. I ran to the van and busted out an unopened package of Bakugons for the boys so they were busy playing with those. We had GREAT service. The waiter recommended the Shrimp N Chips dinner so we thought why not. It was DELICIOUS!!! The boys were awesome so Jody and I were able to just sit back and relax and enjoy our dinner.
Nate flies back to Orlando this afternoon and today is supposed to be in the 70's....WOO HOO!! It finally feels like we are on vacation!!!
